Quoting Specialist
Job Summary
Candidate will evaluate requests from customers and prepare price quotes.
Responsibilities
Evaluate requests for the chemistry and microbiology labs to confirm that they fall within lab capabilities (equipment and supplies)
Prepare price quotes within a standardized format for both PLS locations (Oakdale, MN and San German, Puerto Rico)
Maintain price lists for standard laboratory offerings (ie raw material and microbiology tests)
Manage and maintain the quote log
Requirements
BA/BS in Chemistry or related science
Experience as a chemist in a laboratory and familiarization with lab techniques and interpreting analytical methods
A technical background that allows the candidate to evaluate various methods to properly estimate the effort and time to perform various technical tasks
Basic understanding and knowledge of the pharmaceutical and medical device industry
Proficient computer skills

Chemist II
Job Summary
The main responsibilities at this level are the routine activities associated with performing tests, test areas, or quality systems, including preparing samples, running instruments, and/or administering quality programs.
Responsibilities
Participates in various tasks including method development and data system management
Assists with method transfers and validations within operational area with supervision and support from group leaders, principal chemists, and/or senior chemists.
Assists with writing of final reports to support these activities
Performs both routine and non-routine assignments, utilizing various types of instrumentation
Assists in the training of staff on methods, instruments, or quality principals
Works with Group Leaders to continually assess production capacity of themselves in order to make sure that the appropriate steps are being taken to attain the highest possible level of productivity
Assist in equipment and facility maintenance; investigate and facilitate the solving of any equipment/ facility problems
Promotes cooperation and teamwork within the group and the company
Chemist II/Microbiologist II/Specialist II personnel may be asked to assist senior staff with project management of specific assignments. They may be asked to interact with clients in this role
Support work flow, from incoming samples through analysis, to out going results
Requirements
This position can be an entry position for a Masters of Science degreed individual, or a Bachelor of Science degreed, or non-degreed individual with equivalent experience
Experience using the HPLC
Knowledge of and experience with cGMP standards

Job Summary
Senior Chemists have a very high level of involvement with the day to day testing/quality activities within the laboratory and provide guidance to Chemists/Microbiologists/Specialists on technical/quality matters.
Responsibilities
Participates in various tasks including method development and data system management
Performs method transfers and validations within operational area with minimal supervision
Writes final reports to support these activities
Directs laboratory projects from set-up through data interpretation and reporting
Performs both routine and non-routine assignments, utilizing a wide array of instrumentation
Trains all levels of staff on methods, instruments, or quality principals
Works with Group Leaders to continually assess production capacity of themselves in order to make sure that the appropriate steps are being taken to attain the highest possible level of productivity
Assist in equipment and facility maintenance; investigate and facilitate the solving of any equipment/ facility problems
Promotes cooperation and teamwork within the group and the company
Senior Scientists may be assigned responsibility over specific project or test area, and they may be the main interface between PLS and the client
Coordinate work flow, from incoming samples through analysis, to out going results
Requirements
This position can be an entry position for a Ph.D. candidate or can be a Masters of Science degreed, Bachelor of Science degreed, or non-degreed individual with equivalent experience
